So am I the only one having an incredibly hard time finding videos on YouTube lately? It seems like ever since they removed the ability to sort by "upload date", I have not been able to find jack shit on any of my go to searches. I've always had the best luck finding new videos as they've been posted, often from new or very small accounts. Instead, YouTube is throwing what they want me to watch instead. I can search by "Today" "This week/month" etc but even those searches are broken.
Even the "recommended" video list to the right, which often produced better results than my searches because it'll list related videos with titles so random its not worth searching for, is listing the same old tired videos over, and over, and over again. Rarely anything new or unwatched, and often times the videos are unrelated to my search. I am finding it impossible to find anything these days.
I know in the past they experimented with this but brought the old search back. Its been months now, I don't think it's coming back. How is a new content creator supposed to grow in an environment where Youtube buries their videos in favor of slop that will produce them ad revenue?
Honestly i'm at the point of just stopping now because its become a complete waste of time. Am I doing something wrong here?

It's not broken that's the way they are. That's why I memorize or write down all my faves and search them

I was surprised to find out that several years of "downloading" videos (saving them in my personal folder) has resulted in every one of them being deleted and unrecoverable.

I noticed it too, they exchange that filter for "Recently uploaded", which sucks bc it shows up only sometimes.
About recommendations, I think they know what they're doing, some 'last resort retention attempt', don't you sometimes wondered why a good video pops after u have left the site for a couple of hours? I have the sensations they give up good stuff when they notice the user fleeing.

YouTube is a cesspits of thieving cunts reselling stolen clips and sometimes even superimposing their shitty logos onto it. Good riddance.
