Norma Shearer's character breaks her high-heeled shoe in 1928 silent movie "A Lady of Chance". Boyfriend carries her into apartment to treat her for a sprained ankle. But he is very confused about how to fix things and she is very impatient and frustrated, as the ankle is OK and she is just pretending. I love this clip as he uses a pocketknife to remove her shoe and then tries to delicately remove her stocking. He gives up and goes off to bathroom, so she pulls the stocking part way down to make it easier for him. He comes back with a hot towel and puts it on her ankle and she passes out. But he gets the stocking off and she spreads her toes nicely.
