It's because the one who uploaded those files doesn't have a premium rapidshare account, therefore his files get deleted by rapidshare after 30 days of no downloads. Only way to get them is to upload them again

It's so damn annoying that 90% of the stuff you can find here isn't available anymore... Basically, rapidshare.de and rapidshare.com are quite good to upload files to and you can download from them with an OK speed, BUT: it really sucks that those files disappear in such a short period of time. I have an idea though: if people would upload more files (like 6-10) in one package that's around 100 mb on Megaupload.com, and the mods would maintain a topic in which all the links would be posted and the files would be checked regularly to make sure they're not deleted... That way all the people, even the newcommers could easily reach all the stuff and it wouldn't fade away like now...

kaif, files uploaded with a premium account on Rapidshare never get deleted. That's why the files on rapidshare.com available from www.nyllover.com are there since a long time and dont' get deleted.

I personally hate to be forced to download a 100MB file just to see one of those videos. I really hate it.

Moreover, megaupload is NOT usable here in Italy unless you download a special program from them. I don't think it's a good thing to force people to install something on their computer (and i bet that program brings advertisement) just to download a file.

Sorry me, but i still see Rapidshare as a good way to host files.

Anyway, just my opinion.

Thanks for clearing that up. I just thought that since there are hundreds of small files getting posted, it's impossible to maintain a decent list of them. About Megaupload.com: there are plenty of tricks to download from there without having to install the toolbar (there are a lot of results if you Google it, here's a good one for example: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2006/06/0 ... ots-limit/ ).
As for the list of all the files posted: I thought it would be useful to check out the links regularly, so the files don't get deleted - that's why it'd be great to have a separate, "sticky" topic for them in my opinion (just like OKMerlin's topic, which seems like a very good idea to me).
It's good to know that from now on all the stuff uploaded to rapidshare.com won't disappear. But let's face it: not everyone who's contributing here has a Premium account for rapidshare.com (I mean, I don't have one for example), so that doesn't solve the problem I guess. The thing that REALLY bugs me is that we've already lost DOZENS of files that were mostly uploaded to rapidshare.de (see the first 33-34 pages of this topic, there is literally no link there that works anymore, all of the files got deleted). Anyway, thanks for the efforts !

I agree kaif. Just two things:

- i'm well aware of the tricks with Megaupload (i use them), but that's not what i call "make life easier to people".
- About the topic, a part from making it "sticky", you can do all. So if you want to start one, just go for it and we will make it sticky
- I know that not everyone can have a premium account, just wanted to clarify why they disappear
- Just to clarify more... just the stuff uploaded by ME on Rapidshare.com won't disappear... of course if someone without a premium account uploads there... files will be deleted after a month without downloads.

Now... let's go back to footjobs!
