Do you enjoy women shoeplaying in tights compared to nylons?

Also what is the difference between the two?Are tights just tougher to tear?

Seems like the 30 and youngers in my area wear tights

I think (?) the only real difference is the thickness/opacity of the fabric. I guess I prefer "hose" but I'm fine with tights long as they're not too thick. I love the wrinkles really thin material makes when they clench their toes, and the "webbing" effect it make when they spread their toes.

Back to the semantic question, most commonly used terms are much fuzzier than most people realize. Contrary to popular belief, there is no authority on English grammar and no one who officially decides what words "officially" mean (outside the hard sciences, and, I suppose, law).

In fact I would go so far as to say certain words have almost no prima facie meaning whatsoever -unless and until you define them for your own context. Prime examples would be "market", "free will", "consciousness", "democracy", "justice", "socialism", and "fascist".

Definitions are never correct or incorrect, they are only useful or not useful in conveying clear and specific meaning.

My impression was that "tights" are more of a cotton/spandex material, therefore thicker and more opaque, where "nylons" (or pantyhose) are more sheer and therefore more delicate.

Of course, there's also the British English vernacular, which seems to be that "tights" apply to any leg covering where the legs are attached (the opposite of stockings).

I think tights and nylons both have their place in fashion - nylons are more formal, professional and mature, where tights are more casual, more comfortable, and therefore have the option of being more "fun." The latter reasons are probably why tights are more popular with the younger set. My fiancee only wears suntan or nude nylons; otherwise, it's tights for her, tights in every color and a few textures and patterns. She doesn't wear shoes inside (or very long once we're sitting) and her budget is tight, so she needs footwear that will last a while. That, and if she's wearing tights, it's cold out, so the extra warmth afforded by tights over nylons helps, even if it's minimal. Most of her female friends have the same approach. Nylons are usually reserved for interviews and fancy occasions.

I don't mind either. I think I actually prefer tights - nylons only partially obscure the foot, so the toes are as visible as if she were barefoot instead. With tights, the wiggling toes take on a new innocence and softness.

I love this explanation paradigm

I love the tight/leegings look as well not as much as hose/stockings but with a suede shoe or even suede boot its an awesome look

I am a fan of the covering of the foot that excentuates the beauty of it.
