Question for Whoever May Be Able to Answer.

I still do not own a high definition television screen, but one thing that's kind of been on my mind is, when I do get one, will I be able to notice a difference in my self made dvds of the various things I've collected from this site? I know that when you go to certain clips4sale sites they say "this video is the same as the one below only in hi def" is that what they're talking about? Would there be any difference in a regular video played on a high definition screen than on a normal, or do HD Tvs just enhance pictures from HD and Blue Ray discs?
