Summer Sucks...Here in the U.S.
I'm not a fan of hot weather in general, but I hate it even more because mostly all I see are summer type sandals and the devil's own creation...the "flip flop"
I grew up in California in the 70's and 80's and people wore flip flops for 2 reasons...going to the beach or running an errand to the grocery store or dry cleaners.
Apparently now, it's okay to wear flip flops and "designer" flip flops to the workplace, to dinner, to the bar, pretty much everywhere in the U.S. you can think of, they wear flip flop. Not sure what it's like overseas, but it's a sick epedemic here in the States and it must be stopped.
Plus, they've done studies of the bacteria on you feet from wearing flip flops in an urban eviroment...nasty.

I wholeheartedly agree. I hate those damn things. Girls are starting to wear them everywhere. The young ones even wear them in the winter. What's even worse is the damn noise that they make. It's like torture listening to it.
As DP used to call them... shower shoes.
Write a law to stop it, and I'll sign it. Put it to a vote, and you'll get a "yea" from me.
What's even worse is when guys where them... (if there was a throwing up emoticon, I'd add it right here).

Re: Summer Sucks...Here in the U.S.
I strongly concur with everything you're said, Mr. Mike. When I was growing up, flip-flops were not as common as they are today. In fact, they the called "thongs". No, really. For example, When I was in the 8th grade (1980-81), they were two girls (BFF's, if you will) who wore jeans, t-shirts, and thongs (or sneakers). When June graduation came around, they were dolled up! Make-up, dresses, strappy heels, and yes... PANTYHOSE. My heart was beating like crazy! I have never seem them dress up before... not even once. And mind you, summers here in the Midwest are brutal, but I never heard them complain.Mr. Mike wrote:I'm not a fan of hot weather in general, but I hate it even more because mostly all I see are summer type sandals and the devil's own creation...the "flip flop"

Truth of the matter... flip-flops, like that "so-called" bare legged trend are becoming redundant and tiresome. Hopefully (though I will not hold my breath for it), Princess Kate Middleton and a few other female celebs who STILL wears pantyhose can become a paramount of an example. All we can do now is hope and pray.

Im totally with you Mr.Mike..I still think there is a conspiracy for us hose lovers. Its either boots in the winter or barefoot sandals in the summer?Do you notice in the supermarkets that the hose section are smaller than they used to be?
Thats why I have adapted to just watching hosed shoeplay on the internet.I dont think this trend is going to change in America of going without hose.

Hey, it's all in what you are into and that's all right. I dont get excited about just seeing feet, I need shoeplay, mostly dipping and with flip flops..not so much!llama wrote:I'll accept that I'm in the minority in this debate. To me, it's like seeing every womans bare foot and they are very condusive to shoeplay. They practically dangle themselves. But like I said, I seem to be in the minority on this topic.

I totally agree on with the opinion that flip-flops are not an appropriate clothing (except beach and surroundings). I think a girl must be really brain-washed to consider it as part of fashion. If I am a manager of a company, I would definitely ban flip-flops from the office. In Europe it also became popular in the last 3-4 years in the summer period but I think it is again less popular, at least that is my observation. During the cold weather there is no chance here to see girls wearing them. I think girls in Europe love to try out lot of styles, so they are wearing everything from sneakers to high heels. Nylons are a rare sight in summer but otherwise I cannot complain.

Thanks Mr. Mike. BTW, as the thread continued, I'd like to voice my preference for nylons over Flip flops too. When I first posted, the debate seemed to just be flip flop- pro or con. Shoeplay in nylons is the best, but I guess I'd prefer a chance of flip flop shoeplay, rather than no chance of shoeplay in sexy strappy sandals.Mr. Mike wrote:Hey, it's all in what you are into and that's all right. Maybe... but flip flops and sandals are forbidden in most, if not all, professional office environments. Thankfully, they are forbidden in our office, with the exception of casual Friday.Footsiefreak wrote:Unfortuneately the workplace/public enviroment has geared for more comfortable than professional and I dont see it ever changing back to the good ol days
Hose used to required by office policy if women wore skirts back in the 90's when I started in the workforce right out of college. Those were the days!
