I stumbled upon this YouTube channel of Jack Horner, who goes around stores and supermarkets and tells women bugs or spiders scrawled in their shoes. He then grabs the boot or shoe and sock and pulls it off, like he is some hero or something and he usually says he wasn't going to say anything at first but that wouldn't be fair.
My question is "Is he a cool guy for doing this to unsuspecting women?" or "Is he a flaming idiot for taking advantage of these women just so he can feel their feet and make them feel he has done them a favor?"
I tend to go along with the second, as I don't think I would feel very good about myself creating such a situation and deceiving the women. I don't mind being in a situation where I can appreciate a woman's foot and even accidentally touch it or get touched by it, such as footsie under a table. But I don't want to deceive anyone just to satisfy my desires.

It's a guy like that who's going to fall on the radar eventually, and end up in the papers as the latest bad example of our fetish.
It's sort of a self-perpetuating thing, in a way. We share what many people say is one of the largest paraphilias/partialisms in terms of human sexuality. Yet for some reason, it's deemed gross and perverse, forcing foot fetishists to seek somewhat underground means of enjoying their fetish instead of being able to enjoy it in a healthy manner with a consenting partner. We get an example like this guy of taking it a bit too far, and once he's caught and publicized, it builds the narrative that foot fetishists are creeps, forcing us further underground...and so on.
It makes me more appreciative of those who dare to shoot candid footage, but can do so tactfully and without interfering with the subject.
At the same time, the dishonesty angle makes me think, and feel a bit guilty, about my dating days. I dated online some years ago, and at times I'd often steer the early conversation into shoes and feet, sort of probing for hints of a shared interest. For instance, I'd comment how dating a shorter man (like myself) was a bonus because it meant no obligation to wear heels, an observation sometimes met by "I know, I always have to take my heels off when I'm out," or something of that sort. On one hand, I was able to identify a couple women who shared my appreciation. On the other hand, my asking was hardly innocent, so I can't help but feel it was more of the same deception. (Though at least I was smart enough to pick up that they weren't interested, and if we actually went on a date, I wasn't going to try to force a game of footsie under the table or anything.)
